A small studio, and clients who stay.
Cheerise Topline Limited is based in Hong Kong. We are small on purpose. The people you meet in the first conversation are the ones who build the site and answer the phone three years later.
Where we started
The studio grew out of charity work. We built and ran The Unity House, a mobile bidding platform for fundraising galas in Hong Kong, Macau and mainland China, and spent several years standing at the back of ballrooms making sure a few hundred people could bid from their phones at the same time.
That is an unusual apprenticeship for a web studio and it shaped how we work. A bidding system has to hold up on a crowded venue network, and it has to be usable by a guest who has never seen it before and will not read instructions. When something breaks at ten at night, someone has to be in the room to fix it.
We still hold an auctioneer registration in Hong Kong from those years, though web work is what we do now.
How we work
Structure before surface
We work out how the content behaves before deciding how it looks. A catalogue that will double in size, or a publication adding a new section every year, needs a structure that still works at three times the size.
You own it afterwards
The site gets handed over as something your team can actually run. Adding a product, a programme or an article should never require us.
Built for both networks
If part of your audience is inside mainland China, that shapes the build from the first day, and it keeps shaping it until launch.
We stay
Most of our work comes from clients we built for years ago. We would rather look after ten sites properly than launch fifty and disappear.

Rosana Ip
Founder
Started the company and still leads it. Life Member of the Lions Club of Central, which is where the charity fundraising work began.
Kim Chee
Head of projects
Runs projects from the first conversation through to handover. Spends most of that time on the part clients feel later: making the site something their own team can run, so adding a product, a programme or an article never means booking us again. Also looks after sites once they are live, which is where a lot of the studio's work sits.
Work with us
We take on a handful of projects a year.
If you are planning something for the next few months, it is worth talking early. The structural decisions are cheapest before anyone has written a line of code.
